Most women take the responsibility of providing food for their families through subsistence agriculture. Women are farmers and women are mothers! In both roles of responsibility, they enjoy the gratifications and burdens of nurturing a seed from conception to maturation, and are thus the instruments and guardians of fertility.

Obi-Tabot Obi Tabe was born in Cameroon, West Africa, where he completed his primary and secondary school education. After finishing high school, Obi worked with the Cameroon government as biological illustrator at the National Herbarium under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He won the position on the strength of his advanced study in Biology and Chemistry, his fastidious attention to scientific detail and remarkable drawing ability. Obi maintained this position for over three years before moving to the United States to pursue studies in Fine Art. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Fine Art degree, Obi moved to Chicago, Illinois where he worked as a freelance graphic...
