Artist's Description

This painting represents the use of loop diuretics in the treatment of edema and hypertension. A schematic drawing of the loop of Henle and skeletal representations of molecular structures of two loop diuretics (furosemide and ethacrynic acid) are incorporated into the design. Two pharmacokinetic curves (IV bolus infusion and oral drug administration) associated with drug monitoring and drug regimen adjustments are also evident in this abstract design.
